Aquafaba Chickpea Chocolate Mousse

A delicious, creamy mousse made with the water in a can of chickpeas or leftover from cooking


  • electric hand mixer


  • 1 15 oz can of chickpeas * will yield a cup or 1.5 cup liquid or create your own, link in text
  • 1 cup chocolate chips dark or milk, we used dark
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp cream or tartar or tbsp of lemon juice


  • Melt the chocolate chips in a bowl, set aside
  • Pour aquafaba in bowl, mix with hand mixer on high for about 5 minutes or until peaks form
  • Add melted chocolate, cocoa powder, cream of tartar or lemon juice and continue mixing until well combined
  • Pour desired amounts into glasses and chill for at least 3 hours. For frozen treats, store in freezer for 2 hours or more
